Dennis Jumpstarting another book . . .

JUMP START
a technopreneurship fable
by Dennis Posadas
Singapore: Pearson Prentice Hall, 2008

Dear Friends,

My new book, Jump Start – a technopreneurship fable, is a fictional business fable about a returnee scientist named Rajin who embarks on a technology venture. He discovers (along with his wife Silvia) that things are not as easy as they seem. Fortunately, he meets an experienced mentor named Bob, who guides him through the business side of things. It is based on my numerous interviews and talks with technopreneurs and venture capitalists across Asia.

Jump Start is a short fictional business fable modelled after books like The One Minute Manager, Who Moved My Cheese?, Fish!, The Five Temptations of a CEO, and Our Iceberg is Melting. It is a quick read, but contains timeless messages that will be of value to scientists and engineers who wish to start their own ventures, the kind of sage advice you can get if you talk to successful technopreneurs in your community.

Jump Start will be available through Asian bookstores like National Bookstore, Kinokuniya, Borders, and in the U.S. through Amazon.com. It will be my second book with Pearson Education Asia after Rice & Chips: Technopreneurship and Innovation in Asia.

I hope you will eagerly await its arrival in your neighborhood bookstores and spread the word. Just like with my earlier book, it is my hope that with Jump Start, more Asian scientists and engineers will be encouraged to jump start their own tech ventures.

The book hasn’t been formally launched yet but I am told by the publishers (Anvil Publishing Inc.) that it is now available at Powerbooks, FullyBooked, and National Bookstores in Metro Manila.

If you think it might be interesting, I hope you will not only get a copy but also spread the word.

If you’d like a preview of the book’s cover and some testimonials, please let me know and I can email these to you.

Thanks, loads.

Dennis Posadas is working on a new book — Jump Start! A Technopreneurship Business Fable, and a sampler is available in PDF format: http://www.geocities.com/dennisposadas/js-sample.pdf. Dennis is the author of Rice & Chips: Technopreneurship and Innovation in Asia which was posted here when it was first ’sold from the trunk of his car’, now it’s available to all National Bookstore outlets and not to be outdone in amazon.com. So expect Jump Start! to be distributed widely. In 2008, he was appointed as the Deputy Executive Director of the bicameral Committee on Science, Technology and Engineering of the Philippine Congress.

I bought ’Rice and Chips’, endorsed it to my co-teachers.
